Partnerships

The University of Nebraska Extension is dedicated to helping the onsite industry in Nebraska advance through:

• continuing education
• training and professional development
• updated, unified publications for the onsite industry and consumers
• delivering workshops across Nebraska
• explaining the educational materials and some of the new trends taking place in the industry

Initial steps toward these goals included facilitating the organization of the Nebraska Onsite Task Force comprised of state and local regulators and educators.

The Nebraska Onsite Task Force recognized the changing nature of onsite wastewater,so in partnership with Extension, initiated the development and delivery of an industry-oriented training curriculum. The curriculum focuses on two primary themes:

1) knowledge of Title 124 - Onsite Regulations

2) knowledge of onsite systems

This training helped advance the onsite industry and assist industry professionals in acquiring certification by exam as of January 1, 2006.

 Extension continues to partner with state and local agencies and organizations in Nebraska and to protect our precious water and environmental resources. These partnerships include industry associations and the state-wide Onsite Wastewater Advisory Committee.
