RegulationsLivestock Waste Regulations in The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations, derived from the Federal Clean Water Act, are referred to as the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and are incorporated into Title 130. Most non-pasture based operations where animals are housed and raised, those that meet the definition of an Animal feeding operation (AFO), are required to have an inspection by Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) and possibly required to maintain a permit that will define the minimum environmental standards for their operation.
