In the article, which is part one of a two-part series, the author highlights the fact that manure is nature's recycling program. As the agriculture industry has changed from smaller, more-diversified farms that might have cattle, chickens, pigs, and grow the feed for them to more specialized operations that focus on just one aspect of the traditional farm, the need for connections between farms is more important than ever.
