What is required or appropriate for a planned maintenance schedule?
In addition to the regulated inspections of the production areas in an animal feeding operation, it is recommended that operators should include inspections of appearance related aspects of their facility, such as landscaping additions and facility entrances. Ensure signage can be clearly read by removing or cutting down overgrown bushes, trees, or weeds. Periodic maintenance of aesthetic elements, like fencing, plantings, etc. should be included to remove wind-blown trash and weeds.
